September 2011 Meet n Greet

By: Linda P., Tuesday September 20, 2011

In September the York Region Parrot Club held its annual Meet ‘n Greet gathering. It was a gathering of old members and new members and of course their birds. The sign up table kept Carol and Linda busy. Anyone who signed up and paid their membership got a ticket for a chance to win a large Hagen Vision cage. Congratulations to Gino. His ticket was drawn and now he is the lucky owner of that great cage!

Many people took advantage of our bird groomer’s services. Dee multitasks as our vice president and groomer. Dee and Carole have started a weigh in service. Every time your bird attends a meeting, he/she will be weighed and the weight is recorded on cards. This is an excellent way to track the health of your bird.

Our librarians Doug and Bonnie were open for business with books, magazines and DVD’s.

Linda polled bird parents with a question about treats for the “birdie tails” portion in the October issue of the Gazette.

The raffle table made many people happy, as they took home great toys for their birds.

We had a photographer from the Richmond Hill Liberal newspaper, snapping pictures and gathering stories about birds. The photos can be found here as well as a video.

I am sure everyone agrees, it was a fun evening!
